Molded Fiber Packaging Compliance Under PPWR and EPR

Under Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR, application date 12 August 2026), packaging placed on the EU market requires a declaration of conformity supported by technical documentation. We supply the inputs that file needs.

Lifecycle and Environmental Impact

Molded fiber is a renewable, recyclable base material, and production waste is recycled back into the process. Intrecore runs both wet press and dry press molding, and documents the inputs for the process actually used.

Food Contact and Pharma Scope

FSSC22000 certified food contact production runs to EC 1935/2004 and Commission Regulation 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice. Declarations of compliance and migration statements are issued per material and format.

For pharmaceutical and medical device customers we supply secondary packaging: inserts, trays, protective fitments and shipping formats. These do not contact the product, so ISO 11607 for sterile barrier systems does not apply.

Documentation and Change Control

Every project ships with a document pack matched to your quality system. Specifications are frozen at serial release, and revisions are controlled and communicated before they take effect.

Does molded fiber packaging need a declaration of conformity under PPWR?

Is molded fiber packaging recyclable in existing EU paper streams?
Uncoated molded fiber is collected and recycled with paper and board in most EU streams. Where a barrier coating or lamination is required, we document the effect on repulpability against your local end-of-life route before it is specified.
